New York - Saba
Amir Saeid Iravani, Iran’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, has called for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the guarantee of a just , lasting peace, and the granting of full UN membership to Palestine.

He reaffirmed Iran’s steadfast support for the Palestinian people in their struggle to achieve their inalienable right to self-determination.

According to Iran’s IRNA news agency, Iravani made these remarks on Wednesday during his speech at the International Conference in Support of Palestine held at the UN headquarters in New York. He stated that the Israeli aggression has reduced Gaza to rubble, with thousands of civilians brutally killed, while the occupying regime seeks to annex the West Bank and forcibly displace Palestinians. He warned that the so-called "Abraham Accords" have not contributed to peace but instead emboldened the enemy to continue its destabilizing policies.

The Iranian ambassador stressed the urgent need for full and sustained humanitarian aid access to Gaza and rejected any form of forced displacement or resettlement in third countries, emphasizing that such practices constitute blatant violations of international law.

He also called for holding the Zionist regime fully accountable for its systematic violations of international humanitarian law and human rights, including war crimes, ethnic cleansing, and racial discrimination.

Concluding his speech, Iravani stated, "A just and lasting peace can only be achieved by ending the occupation and racial discrimination, and by enabling the Palestinian people to fully exercise their right to self-determination." He emphasized that any solution to the Palestinian issue based on injustice and inequality will not endure.
