Hajjah – Saba:
A meeting was held on Wednesday in Hajjah Governorate to review the progress of community initiative projects implemented in Bani Al-Awam District, under phases four and five of the Emergency Central Development Interventions Unit.
The meeting, which included Abdulwahab Sinan, representative of the Central Interventions Unit at the Ministry of Local Administration and Rural Development, Hassan Al-Ashoul, Director of Bani Al-Awam District, and Yahya Al-Zailai, Director of the Technical Support Department for Community Initiatives, reviewed the current status of the projects, the monitoring matrix, levels of performance and completion based on reports submitted by the unit's engineers.
The participants discussed the reasons behind the delay of some initiatives, and operational aspects related to second-phase equipment. They emphasized the importance of the role of community committees, in cooperation with local authorities and the Bani Al-Awam Multi-Purpose Agricultural Cooperative Association, in resuming stalled projects within the specified timeline.
They also stressed the need to hand over completed projects to the local authorities in the district, encourage the community to begin work on pending projects, and distribute essential materials such as diesel and cement through the unit based on progress reports.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of submitting an alternative proposal for the halted project to the interventions unit for evaluation, and acknowledged the unit’s role in supporting self-initiated community projects.
The attendees called for enhanced coordination and integration of efforts to overcome all challenges, achieve the desired goals of alleviating community suffering, support local initiatives, promote cooperative work, and empower the Bani Al-Awam Association to fulfill its developmental role.
