Hodeidah - Saba:
Mohammed Halisi, Hodeidah Deputy Governor for Services Affairs, reviewed on Wednesday the preliminary plan for the Agricultural Rehabilitation and Empowerment Project set to be implemented in Ad-Durayhimi District, south of Hodeidah city.
The project covers a total area of 153,059,117 square meters.
During a meeting with Project Director Mohsen Abu Ghidnah, Deputy Governor Halisi emphasized the importance of adhering to precise technical specifications when preparing the executive study for the plan. This ensures the provision of essential services, particularly roads, in line with the project’s requirements and upon its official approval.
The meeting discussed the progress in preparatory procedures and the remaining arrangements to complete the technical and administrative aspects of the project within its organizational framework.
Additionally, the meeting reviewed the agricultural opportunities available within the project’s scope, as well as mechanisms for implementing agricultural empowerment to support local farmers and achieve sustainable agricultural development.
The project director noted that the plan aims to utilize state-owned lands for agricultural reclamation and empower low-income families by granting them arable lands and transforming them into productive farmland. This aligns with the directives of Revolution Leader Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi to prioritize the agricultural sector and achieve self-sufficiency.
He added that Ad-Durayhimi project serves as a pilot model, which will be expanded and replicated in other districts of Hodeidah in the coming phases.
