Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Samir Baja’alah paid a visit on Wednesday to the “Khatwa/step” Center for the Care and Rehabilitation of People with Special Needs and Autism in the Capital Secretariat.
Minister Baja’alah was briefed by the center’s director Safa al-Mahabshi on the specialized rehabilitation and training programs provided for each child with special needs, particularly those diagnosed with autism.
The minister toured the center’s various departments, including speech therapy clinics, attention and focus training, communication and verbal skills development, sensory integration, occupational therapy, and auditory, technical, visual, vocal, and cognitive training, along with the open training space.
Minister Baja’alah praised the efforts of the staff, describing the center’s work as a noble humanitarian service that deserves recognition and support, just like other care centers.
He affirmed the ministry’s and the Disabled Care and Rehabilitation Fund’s commitment to supporting people with special needs and backing all initiatives aimed at empowering them and improving their quality of life.
