Manchester City coach criticizes global silence on Gaza humanitarian disaster
[29/ July/2025]

Madrid - Saba:
Spanish coach and Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola criticized the global silence on the ongoing humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip, which has been ongoing for months.

In an interview with the Spanish magazine "GQ," Guardiola emphasized that what is currently happening in Gaza and Ukraine is similar to the horrors of the First and Second World Wars.

He said, "The lack of humanity has become clear in the face of the world's silence, even though the disaster is happening just hours away, while everyone continues their lives as if nothing has happened."

The coach, who won the Champions League with City, added, "We are watching what is happening in Gaza and Palestine live and directly on screen, yet no real steps are being taken to stop this tragedy."

He continued, "During the two world wars, disasters were not broadcast in this way, but they received faster responses." In previous statements last June, Guardiola expressed his deep sorrow over the ongoing violence and casualties in Palestine, in addition to the ongoing crises in Ukraine, stressing that what is happening in Gaza is "extremely painful and cannot be ignored."
