The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza warned on Tuesday of the spread of an artificial sweetener commonly known among the public as "almond sugar," which is an artificial substance called Sucralose.
The ministry said in a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (SABA) that this substance has no relation to almonds and carries no nutritional value, and its sale without a clear label is prohibited, as it constitutes a health violation.
The ministry stressed the need to ensure the presence of a label on every product, to avoid purchasing products of unknown origin or those not in original packaging, to be cautious of unverified artificial sweeteners, and to refrain from buying children’s juices with unknown ingredients.
