Meteorology Forecasts Rainfall of Varying Intensity

Sana'a - Saba:
The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast scattered thunderstorms of varying intensity across parts of several governorates over the next 24 hours.

The center stated in its weather bulletin that thunderstorms of varying intensity are likely to fall on parts of the governorates of Saada, Hajjah, Mahwit, Amran, Sana'a, Raymah, Dhamar, Ibb, Taiz, Dhale'a, and Lahj.

Scattered rains, sometimes accompanied by thunder, are expected in parts of the governorates of Bayda, western Jawf, and the highlands of Abyan, Shabwah, and Hadramaut.

According to the center, winds may be strong to very strong around the Socotra Archipelago, the Gulf of Aden, and the eastern and southern coasts.

The amount of rainfall measured at meteorological stations in Sana'a and As-Sunainah over the past 24 hours was 9.0 mm, Saada 3.1 mm, and Amran 1.0 mm.

Rainfall of varying intensity fell on parts of the mountainous highlands and interior plateaus outside the range of the monitoring stations.

The center warned citizens of thunderstorms and of staying in or crossing floodwaters during and after the rainfall.

It also warned seafarers, fishermen, and ship captains of rough seas and high waves around the Socotra Archipelago, in the Gulf of Aden, and along the eastern and southern coasts.
