The Iranian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned on Sunday the attack by Zionist naval forces on the "Handala" aid ship, which was carrying humanitarian supplies to Gaza in international waters.
According to the Mehr News Agency, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baghaei described the assault as a clear act of maritime piracy and a blatant violation of international law. He stated that this attack aligns with the ongoing policy of genocide in occupied Palestine, the continuation of the unjust and inhumane blockade, and the deliberate imposition of starvation and deprivation on the defenseless people of Gaza.
Baghaei emphasized that the attack on the "Handala" aid ship, following the earlier targeting of the "Madelin" vessel, constitutes a flagrant breach of international legal principles and norms. He called on all governments and international organizations to condemn these actions.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman concluded by stressing the urgent need to lift the blockade on Gaza immediately, allowing sufficient and timely humanitarian aid to enter and be distributed solely through internationally recognized mechanisms.
