The Local Council of Sana'a governorate, chaired by governor Abdulbasit al-Hadi, held a meeting on Sunday to discuss strategies for improving administrative and development work.
The session reviewed reports from the Council Chairman and the Executive Board, assessing the implementation of previous decisions and identifying obstacles and solutions to delayed actions.
Council members also discussed a proposal to regulate groundwater usage in the surrounding districts to prevent random drilling and protect Sana’a Basin.
The council approved a meeting next week with district directors to enhance coordination and strengthen oversight roles of local council members in promoting development.
Governor al-Hadi stressed the importance of focusing on essential services—water, roads, and healthcare—particularly in underserved areas, and called for collective efforts to drive meaningful reform across sectors.
