Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar announced that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will visit Islamabad soon.
On the sidelines of his visit to New York, Ishaq Dar said in televised remarks, carried by the Iranian News Agency (IRNA), "Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is scheduled to visit Pakistan, and we hope this visit will take place in early August."
He stressed that Pakistan supports diplomacy and a wise approach in the region and welcomes all efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions and conducting negotiations with Iran.
He said that he is in close contact with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, adding, "We are neighbors, so we cannot remain silent regarding recent events, including the attack on Iranian nuclear facilities."
He condemned the Zionist entity's aggression against Iran and the US attack on Iranian nuclear facilities.
He emphasized that we cannot ignore any wrongdoing, even if a friendly and cooperative country carries out such an act (the attack on Iranian nuclear facilities). Our policy is to accurately assess whether the act is right or wrong.
He emphasized that diplomacy and dialogue are the only way out of the current situation, and we will continue to support and encourage both sides.
He said, "Pakistan's efforts at the highest levels for any mediation aimed at strengthening diplomacy in the region will continue."
