Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), announced on Saturday that its fighters successfully targeted three Israeli armored personnel carriers (APCs) in southern Gaza.
In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), the brigades said that its fighters carried out a complex ambush operation, planting two explosive devices inside the command compartments of two APCs, leading to their destruction by fire and the killing of their crews.
Following the initial attack, a third Israeli APC was targeted with a "Yasin 105" rocket-propelled grenade in the Abasan al-Kabira area, east of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip.
The statement added that Al-Qassam fighters observed an Israeli military excavator attempting to bury the destroyed vehicles to extinguish the flames, as helicopters arrived for evacuation operations.
This operation comes as part of the ongoing response by Palestinian resistance factions to the genocide perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces in the Gaza Strip—backed by the United States—since October 7, 2023, involving mass killings, starvation, destruction, and displacement, all in defiance of international calls and International Court of Justice orders to stop the assault.
