Gaza - Saba:

The director of Medical Relief in Gaza, Mohammed Abu Afash, revealed this Saturday morning that "about 17,000 children in Gaza suffer from severe malnutrition."

The director of Medical Relief warned, in a televised interview, that malnutrition among children has deteriorated to stage five, which could lead to their death.

He added, "Mothers in hospitals are unable to breastfeed due to their severe malnutrition."

He noted that the lack of water and sanitation facilities has exacerbated skin infections among children.
He pointed out that hospitals have exhausted all available supplies of medicines and painkillers.

Since the beginning of March, Israeli authorities have imposed a strict blockade and closure of the Gaza Strip crossings, preventing the entry of thousands of trucks carrying food, humanitarian, and medical aid, exacerbating the humanitarian situation in the Strip.

The famine has escalated in recent weeks, amid a lack of aid and citizens' inability to obtain flour and the most basic necessities of life.
