Britain, France, and Germany emphasized on Friday the urgent need to end the war in the Gaza Strip, stating that "the humanitarian catastrophe we are witnessing in Gaza must stop now."
In a joint statement, the three countries opposed any efforts to impose "Israeli" sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territories. They called on the Israeli entity to fulfill its obligations under international humanitarian law and to immediately allow the United Nations and non-governmental organizations to operate in Gaza, according to the Palestinian news agency "Safa."
The three nations expressed their readiness to take further measures to support an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, reaffirming their commitment to work toward a specific and credible plan for the next phase in the Strip.
With American and European support, the Israeli enemy army has continued to commit genocidal crimes in Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in the martyrdom of 59,676 Palestinian civilians, most of them children and women, and the injury of 143,498 others—as of today—in a non-final toll. Thousands of victims remain trapped under rubble or on the streets, unreachable by rescue and medical teams.
