Customs officers at the Afar Customs Center in Rada'a District, Al-Bayda Governorate, foiled an attempt to smuggle a quantity of medicinal drugs hidden inside a vehicle's spare tire.
The vehicle was coming from Jizan toward Sana'a.
Fahd Hazaa, the center’s director, told the Yemeni News Agency (SABA) that the seized items included 9,450 vitamin and nutritional supplement capsules, 1,500 bags weighing 5 grams each, as well as 2,700 tablets and 16 ampoules (6 ml each).
He praised the vigilance and efforts of the customs officers in detecting and confiscating the smuggled goods, stressing that the center will continue to carry out its national duties with full responsibility and will not hesitate to combat smuggling attempts in all their forms.
