Algeria - Saba:
Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on Wednesday said "the time has come for the international community to assume its political and moral responsibilities and stop the genocide and ongoing violations against the Palestinian people."
This came during Tebboune's press statements at the conclusion of the fifth government summit between Algeria and Italy, which he co-chaired in Rome with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. The statement was broadcast on Algerian state television.
Tebboune added, "In the same context (the ongoing genocide in Gaza), we expressed our concern about the general situation in the Middle East and the urgent and pressing efforts it requires to avoid escalation and instability in the region."
This comes at a time when the Israeli enemy, with American support, continues to wage a war of genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, including killing, destruction, starvation, and displacement.
The genocide has left more than 202,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced persons and a famine that has claimed the lives of many, including dozens of children.
