The heads of the Social Affairs Committee and the Services Committee of the Capital Municipality, Hamoud Al-Naqeeb and Adel Al-Aqari, conducted a field inspection today of the ongoing street rehabilitation project in the Al-Umanaa neighborhood of Al-Wahda District. The project, which costs 278 million riyals, is jointly funded by the municipality and the local community.
They were accompanied by Assistant Undersecretary of the Municipality, Dr. Abdulwahab Sharaf Al-Din, and Secretary of the Al-Wahda District Local Council, Dr. Khaled Humaid. The delegation inspected work on a surface concrete bridge being built as part of the first phase of the project, which is being carried out by the Executive Unit for Road and Public Space Construction and Maintenance.
Engineer Ahmed Al-Musharafi, Director of Community Initiative Projects, provided a briefing on the project’s progress, stating that 20 percent of the work has been completed. The project includes stone paving, asphalt repairs, and maintenance of several streets in the neighborhood, under the supervision of the Public Works Sector.
Al-Naqeeb emphasized the local authority’s commitment to implementing service improvement projects and encouraging community initiatives to support government efforts.
