Sana’a – Saba:

Minister of Finance Abduljabbar Ahmed met on Monday with Dr. Abdullah Banyan, Chairman of the National Union of Associations for Persons with Disabilities.

The meeting, which was attended by several heads of associations concerned with motor, hearing, visual, and intellectual disabilities, discussed the conditions of these associations and the overall situation of persons with disabilities in Yemen.

Discussions focused on the rights of this segment of society, particularly their right to education and the need to provide resources and support for the establishment and operation of schools dedicated to their learning needs.

During the meeting, the Finance Minister affirmed that supporting persons with disabilities is both a religious and humanitarian duty and a national priority within the framework of the Government of Change and Development.

He directed the immediate issuance of the necessary financial reinforcements to cover budget deficits faced by these associations and centers, in preparation for reopening schools and resuming educational activities.

The Minister emphasized the need to facilitate and simplify all financial procedures related to these associations and to treat their financial transactions as a top priority, considering it the least duty owed to this important segment of society.

Minister Abduljabbar stressed that the Ministry of Finance will remain at the forefront of government institutions supporting associations that care for persons with disabilities, within the limits of available resources and in line with government directives.

For his part, Dr. Banyan expressed his appreciation for the Finance Minister’s prompt response and his directives to swiftly issue the financial reinforcements.

Dr. Banyan and the attending association heads praised the Ministry of Finance’s cooperation and its support for persons with disabilities, who deserve all possible care and attention.
