Tehran – SABA:
Iran has confirmed that it currently has no intention of entering into dialogue with the United States, while also announcing upcoming trilateral meetings in Tehran regarding its nuclear program.
According to Iran’s Tasnim news agency, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei stated on Monday:
“We have no plans for dialogue with Washington under the current circumstances. If and when we are convinced that negotiations can be used to secure the rights of the Iranian people and safeguard our national interests, we will certainly not hesitate.”
Baghaei also said that Tehran will host a trilateral meeting on Tuesday focused on the nuclear file, with Russia and China—two countries that are both permanent members of the UN Security Council and participants in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
He noted that Iran has maintained broad alignment with both Russia and China on several key issues, including last year’s constructive consultations on the automatic snapback mechanism for sanctions.
Iran suspended its negotiations with the United States on June 12, following joint U.S.-Israeli airstrikes on Iranian territory. Iran responded with an unprecedented wave of retaliatory missile attacks—the most intense ever against the Israeli regime.
