Prague – Saba:

Spanish rider Marc Márquez made history with Ducati after clinching his fifth consecutive victory in the MotoGP World Championship, winning the Czech Grand Prix on Sunday at the Brno Circuit.

The six-time MotoGP world champion became the first rider in the Italian manufacturer's history to achieve five consecutive Grand Prix wins, securing the race with a margin of nearly two seconds.

The 32-year-old extended his lead in the championship standings to 120 points ahead of his younger brother, Álex Márquez, who crashed out on the second lap following a collision with Honda’s Joan Mir. Marc is now edging closer to securing his seventh world title.

Two-time world champion Francesco Bagnaia, who started from pole position, failed to capitalize on his strong start. He lost the lead to fellow Italian Marco Bezzecchi of Aprilia after a slip near the end of the opening lap and eventually finished fourth in round twelve of the season.

Márquez surged forward to take the lead from Bezzecchi on lap eight and maintained it until the 21st and final lap, leaving the Italian in second place by 1.753 seconds. Spain’s Pedro Acosta of Red Bull KTM completed the podium in third.

Reigning world champion Jorge Martín, also from Spain, made his return after missing ten rounds due to injury, finishing seventh in his first completed race of the season.

Martín had sustained a hand fracture in a pre-season crash and later suffered additional injuries, including a punctured lung, during a comeback attempt at the Qatar Grand Prix.
