Kyiv - Saba:
Ukrainian authorities announced that at least three people were killed in overnight attacks by Russian drones and missiles.
A missile struck the town of Vasylkivska in the Dnipropetrovsk region (central-east), killing at least two people, according to Governor Serhiy Lysak via Telegram. He stated that the attack destroyed a medical center, a school, and a “cultural institution,” and caused damage to residential buildings.
Earlier in the night, the city of Odesa and its outskirts in southern Ukraine were targeted by drone attacks.
Additionally, the national police reported one death and six injuries in strikes that damaged “shops” and “residences,” and caused fires that were extinguished by emergency services.
Ukraine’s Air Force stated that Russia launched 344 drones and 35 missiles overnight, confirming that 208 of the projectiles were intercepted.
The military also reported that “five missiles and 30 attack drones hit 12 sites, with debris falling in seven locations.”
Meanwhile, the Australian government announced on Saturday that it had delivered M1A1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine as part of a package worth 245 million Australian dollars (160 million US dollars).
Australia is one of the largest non-NATO contributors to Ukraine, providing aid, ammunition, and defense equipment since the start of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine in February 2022.
