Gaza – Saba:
The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) on Thursday called on Arab countries—particularly those maintaining broad relations with European nations—to make their stance on the Palestinian cause a key criterion in bilateral and multilateral relations with Europe.
In a statement, the DFLP expressed deep disappointment over the European Union’s failure to agree on ten proposed measures aimed at punishing the Israeli entity for its crimes against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
"The failure of EU foreign ministers to vote on these proposed measures highlights, on one hand, the duplicity of certain European capitals whose colonial legacies still influence their policies and who continue to succumb to Israeli entity blackmail under the pretext of 'anti-Semitism'," the statement said.
It added: "Other EU countries remain under American pressure, which has allowed the fascist Israeli government to act unchecked in the region under the guise of 're-engineering the Middle East' to ensure full American hegemony."
The DFLP noted that the blocked proposals included suspending the EU-Israel cooperation agreement, restricting trade relations, imposing sanctions on Israeli ministers, enforcing an arms embargo, and ending visa-free travel to the European Union.
The statement concluded: "US-Israeli coordination has succeeded in preventing the EU foreign ministers from agreeing on even a single punitive measure against Israeli entity."
Since October 7, 2023, with American and European backing, the Israeli occupation army has continued to perpetrate genocidal crimes in the Gaza Strip.
As of Wednesday, a preliminary toll recorded 58,573 Palestinian martyrs—most of them children and women—and 139,607 injured. Thousands remain trapped under rubble or in the streets, unreachable by ambulances and rescue teams.
