Sana’a - Saba:
The Main Boycott Committee held a meeting on Tuesday chaired by Minister of Economy, Industry, and Investment, Eng. Moeen al-Mahqeri, to review the implementation progress of the decision to boycott American goods.
During the meeting — which was attended by Chairman of the Customs Authority, Eng. Adel Margham — participants reviewed the minutes of the previous session and discussed the practical measures taken to enforce the boycott.
Minister al-Mahqeri praised the level of implementation and growing public awareness regarding the importance of the boycott, stressing the need for enhanced coordination among relevant authorities to ensure the full enforcement of the decision.
The meeting reaffirmed the mandatory nature of the boycott against American goods and emphasized the need to intensify market monitoring and inspection, along with awareness campaigns highlighting the boycott as an economic strategy and a form of support for the Palestinian cause.
Participants stressed the importance of promoting national products and identifying local alternatives to replace the boycotted items.
It was reiterated that the three-month grace period for the disposal of existing stock — as outlined in the Prime Minister’s decision — has already begun, taking into account the date the goods left customs outlets. Entry of any newly contracted American goods after the issuance of the decision is strictly prohibited.
The meeting also called for strengthening media awareness campaigns and boosting public participation in the boycott, describing it as a powerful economic tool and a moral and humanitarian stance.
