Moscow – Saba:
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced on Tuesday that the Ukrainian leadership considers the decisions issued by Washington and NATO a signal to continue the war, not a signal to peace.
Peskov said in a press briefing: "One thing is certain at the moment: it seems that this decision, issued in Washington and NATO countries, and directly in Brussels, is not perceived by the Ukrainian side as a signal to peace, but rather as a signal to continue the war."
He described the new statements by Donald Trump as "dangerous."
Peskov added, "The US president's statements are very serious, and some of them are directed personally at President Putin. We certainly need time to analyze what was said in Washington."
The Kremlin spokesman added, "If Vladimir Putin deems it necessary, he will comment on Trump's words."
He stated that "Moscow is ready to hold a third round of negotiations with Kyiv, but has not yet received proposals for a meeting."
Late Monday evening, the US President gave Russia 50 days to end the war in Ukraine or face severe sanctions. He also announced a plan to send massive amounts of US weapons to Kyiv, but via NATO.
He said he would punish Russia with tariffs if an agreement to end the war in Ukraine was not reached within 50 days.
Trump announced that the United States would send Patriot missiles to Ukraine.
