Ukrainian overnight attack leaves 16 civilians injured in Voronezh

Russian authorities announced on Tuesday that 16 people were injured in an Ukrainian drone attack on the province last night.

RT quoted Voronezh Regional Governor Alexander Gusev as saying via Telegram this morning: "Air defenses detected and destroyed 12 enemy drones in the airspace of Voronezh city and three other regions of the province, but the fall of debris from one of the drones in central Voronezh resulted in several injuries."

Gusev later clarified that 15 people were injured in Voronezh, including a teenager who sustained a thigh injury. He added that the most common injuries were shrapnel wounds and lacerations.

He noted that two cases were serious: a man in a coma and another with lung damage. Thirteen of the injured were hospitalized for treatment.

He added that a woman in one of the regions of the province who sustained a shoulder injury was also hospitalized for treatment.

Gusev noted that several apartments in multi-story buildings in Voronezh, private homes in the suburbs and in one area of the district, were damaged, in addition to a number of shops and cars.

In the neighboring Lipetsk district, Governor Igor Artamonov announced that a drone crashed into an industrial zone in the city of Yelets, injuring one person.
