Al-Bayda – SABA:
Governor of Al-Bayda Abdullah Idris inspected progress on the rehabilitation and maintenance project of the central refrigeration facility in Mukayras district, operated by the Mukayras Agricultural Association. The project, costing 34 million Yemeni riyals, is funded by the Agricultural Projects Financing Unit.
Governor Idris was accompanied by Abyan Deputy Governor Abdullah Al-Dumani, Mukayras District Director Yasser Jahlan, and Provincial Agricultural Sector Official Eng. Mohammed Al-Haidari. They received a briefing from the Association’s Chairman, Eng. Nasser Homsan, who explained that the project includes repairs to mechanical and electrical systems and the provision of necessary equipment. He noted that 80% of the work has been completed.
Governor Idris emphasized the importance of expediting the project to bring the refrigeration facility back into operation. He stressed that it would play a key role in preserving seeds and preventing the spoilage of crops that often accumulate in local markets.
He also underlined the need to boost agricultural development in line with directives from the Revolution Leader and the President of the Supreme Political Council. He encouraged farmers to reclaim unused arable land for cultivating various crops.
Finally, Idris urged farmers to take advantage of support provided by relevant institutions, funding bodies, and cooperative associations to expand agricultural production and move toward self-sufficiency.
