Stockholm - Saba:
Hundreds of protesters gathered in Stockholm on Saturday to denounce the Israeli occupation’s war crimes in Gaza and criticize the Swedish government's silence on the ongoing genocide.
The demonstration, held at Odenplan Square and organized by civil society groups, called on the Swedish government to take immediate action to halt the Israeli aggression in Gaza, according to Anadolu Agency.
Protesters held signs reading, “Children are being killed in Gaza,” “Schools and hospitals are being bombed,” and “Stop the food shortage,” voicing outrage at Sweden’s inaction.
Chanting slogans such as “Freedom for Palestine” and “Netanyahu is a murderer,” the crowd marched to the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Australian activist Damian Ridgewell, who joined the protest, stated: “I’m a member of the Palestine Supporters Association in Sydney. We’ve organized many protests against the genocide in Gaza.”
Ridgewell added that they are part of a global movement to stop what he described as “the Zionist genocide by Israel,” affirming: “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli military — with U.S. and European support — has continued its genocidal campaign in Gaza, killing at least 57,882 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injuring 138,095 others, with many still trapped under rubble amid ongoing bombardment.
