Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stressed on Friday that the tragedy of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip is a great failure for all of humanity, but an even greater failure for Muslims.
In an interview with Malaysia's official news channel Bernama, Fidan explained that the ongoing genocide in Gaza is a heartbreaking event.
He added, "We are witnessing extremely painful events for all of us, and we can never forget them. This is a great failure for humanity in general, but an even greater failure for Muslims."
Fidan indicated that Turkey and Malaysia bear specific responsibilities regarding Gaza.
In this regard, the Turkish minister praised Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's position on the oppressed Palestinians and the occupied Palestinian territories.
He emphasized the need to work together and in close cooperation on the Gaza issue.
Fidan warned, "If we do not stand together against this kind of barbarism, it may one day reach us too."
He emphasized the importance of coordinated pressure to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Fidan pointed out that "two million Gazans are currently imprisoned, and Gaza has become like a concentration camp from World War II (1939-1945)."
He continued, "The Palestinian people are being deliberately starved and subjected to harsh conditions. All of this is happening before our eyes, and we cannot allow this to continue."
