Florida - Saba:
Severe storms sweeping through the U.S. state of Florida this week have caused a delay in Real Madrid’s flight from Palm Beach Airport to New York, where they are set to face Paris Saint-Germain in the FIFA Club World Cup semifinal at MetLife Stadium.
The Spanish club’s plane was originally scheduled to depart at 4:00 PM local time yesterday, but adverse weather conditions delayed the flight by a full hour.
The U.S. National Hurricane Center had previously warned of the possibility of the weather developing into a tropical storm, placing the entire state of Florida on alert.
Despite being aware of the forecasts, the club opted to return to Miami after their quarterfinal win over Juventus, choosing to remain at a hotel near their training base to ensure player comfort and safety.
According to Spanish newspaper Marca, the unexpected delay disrupted FIFA’s official media preparation schedule for the match, potentially forcing last-minute changes to Real Madrid’s planned media appearances.
