The German newspaper Bild reported on Sunday that Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala suffered a fibula fracture during his team's match yesterday against Paris Saint-Germain in the FIFA Club World Cup quarter-finals, indicating that he faces a long period of absence.
The newspaper said that Musiala also suffers a ligament injury and may be out of action for up to five months.
Bayern Munich has not yet officially announced Musiala's diagnosis, but sporting board member Max Eberl hinted that the player may undergo surgery in the United States and will not return with the team to Germany today.
