Meteorology Expects Thunderstorms, Sea Rage Over Next 24 Hours

Sana'a - Saba:
The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning expects rain of varying intensity across several governorates, and sea turbulence around the Socotra Archipelago, the Gulf of Aden, and the eastern and southern coasts due to active and strong winds over the next 24 hours.

The center explained in its weather bulletin today that rain of varying intensity, accompanied by thunderstorms, is expected over parts of the governorates of Bayda, Dhale'a, Ibb, Taiz, and the highlands of Lahj, Abyan, and Shabwah.

It also indicated that scattered thunderstorms are expected over parts of the governorates of Saada, Sana'a, Mahwit, Hajjah, Dhamar, Hadhramaut, Mahrah, and Socotra. Winds will be active to strong around the Socotra Archipelago, the Gulf of Aden, and the eastern and southern coasts.

The center reported that the amount of rainfall over the past 24 hours at some meteorological stations in Ibb Governorate - As-Saddah reached 44.6, and in Taiz Governorate 5.2. Scattered thunderstorms of varying intensity fell yesterday outside the scope of meteorological stations in parts of the governorates of Dhale'a, Bayda, Dhamar, Sana'a, Amran, Saada, Hadramaut - Sayun, Abyan, Lahj, and Al Mahrah. The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning warned citizens in areas expected to receive rainfall of thunderstorms and the presence or crossing of torrents during and after rainfall.

It also warned seafarers, fishermen, and ship captains of rough seas and high waves around the Socotra Archipelago, the Gulf of Aden, and the eastern and southern coasts.
