London – SABA:

British police arrested more than 20 people in London today, Saturday, for protesting against the genocide committed by the Israeli enemy against the Palestinian people in Gaza and for showing support for the “Palestine Action” movement.

According to international news agencies, the British police said the arrests were made on suspicion of “terrorism-related offenses,” citing the individuals’ support for Palestine Action, which was recently banned in the UK.

This comes after the ban on Palestine Action officially took effect at midnight, following a court’s rejection of an urgent appeal the movement had filed against the UK Parliament’s decision to designate it as a “terrorist organization.”

Last month, the British government announced the ban on the group after its activists stormed a Royal Air Force base and damaged two aircraft in protest of the UK’s support for the Israeli aggression on Gaza.

Supporters of the movement gathered in Parliament Square, Westminster, holding signs that read “I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action.” Video footage showed police arresting several of them as they chanted near the statue of Mahatma Gandhi.
