European stocks rose on Thursday, supported by easing tensions between Beijing and Washington and renewed optimism about the possibility of reaching global agreements in light of the signing of a trade agreement between the United States and Vietnam.
The pan-European STOXX 600 index rose 0.4 percent to 543.26 points in morning trading, while other major local indices also rose.
European real estate stocks rose 0.6 percent, while the energy sector rose 0.5 percent.
