Düsseldorf - Saba:
Bayer Leverkusen announced on Wednesday the signing of Liverpool defender Jarrell Quansah for £35 million ($47.9 million).
The German club will pay a £30 million deposit for the 22-year-old, who started last season alongside Virgil van Dijk against Ipswich but was substituted at halftime and has not regained his starting place.
The British news agency (PA Media) reported that Liverpool included a buy-back clause in the deal for Quansah, who joined the club when he was five years old.
A statement on Liverpool's official website read: "Jarrell Quansah has completed his transfer from Liverpool to Bayer Leverkusen."
The statement added: "Everyone at Liverpool would like to thank Jarrell for his contribution and wish him well for the future."
