The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) confirmed that hunger is being used as a weapon in the Gaza Strip, with many people fainting in the streets due to food shortages and the lack of adequate drinking water.
In press statements on Wednesday, UNRWA called for the urgent delivery of aid to Gaza safely, under UN supervision.
UNRWA had previously called for the Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip to be lifted so it could continue its work.
It explained that the blockade prevents those most in need from accessing essential food supplies.
