Araghchi: Fordow suffered dire, serious damages
[02/ July/2025]

Tehran - Saba:

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed that no one has precise information about what happened at Fordow yet, saying, "As far as I know, the extent of the damage is very serious. However, the Atomic Energy Organization is conducting investigations and assessing the situation, and the results will be announced to the government."

In an interview with CBS News, which was reported by the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA) on Wednesday, Araghchi said, "Nuclear energy has become a science and technology in Iran, and it is clear that technology cannot be destroyed by bombing. Therefore, if we want to make progress in this industry, we can certainly quickly repair and compensate for all the damage. This is not because the facilities are sound, but because the technology is sound, and the technology is available to our scientists."

He continued, "It seems that these facilities cannot be used at the present time, and it is necessary to verify the duration of the restart or whether it can be launched at all. He stated that Iran's enrichment industry is indigenous and not imported, so it can be bombed."

He stated, "The enrichment industry is a source of national pride, and we will certainly preserve it. We witnessed the 12-day war, the assassination of our scientists, and the imposition of sanctions on us for years because of our possession of this industry."

He emphasized that our nuclear program remains peaceful, and we do not intend to move toward the manufacture of nuclear weapons, as these weapons are forbidden by the Supreme Leader's fatwa and have no place in our security doctrine. I hope that the world, and the West in particular, will understand and accept the right of the Iranian people to enjoy their nuclear rights for peaceful purposes, which they will not give up."
