The United Nations Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) confirmed Tuesday that 82% of the Gaza Strip is subject to Israeli evacuation orders.
The agency stated that Palestinians have nowhere safe to go as facilities and shelters continue to be destroyed.
In a post on platform "X," UNRWA explained that the Israeli army shelled a school sheltering displaced people in Gaza City yesterday morning, Monday.
The shelling caused significant damage to the shelter, though no injuries were reported.
Yesterday, the Israeli forces launched raids on four schools used as shelters for displaced people after issuing evacuation warnings.
Three of these schools were adjacent in al-Zaytoun neighborhood, and the fourth was in al-Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza City.
UNRWA emphasized that "humanitarian facilities are not a target" and called for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
Since the start of the genocide on October 7, 2023, Israeli authorities have deliberately targeted schools and facilities sheltering displaced people, committing dozens of massacres by bombing them while they are occupied by displaced individuals.
