Sheikh Daamoush calls for adherence to resistance amid zionist entity’s terrorism & aggression
[29/ June/2025]
Beirut - Saba:
Sheikh Ali Daamoush, head of Hezbollah’s Executive Council, called on Sunday for steadfast commitment to the resistance option, which embodies adherence to the path of Imam Hussein (AS), especially in light of the terrorism and aggression perpetrated by the Zionist entity—most recently its targeting of the Islamic Republic of Iran in an attempt to destabilize its system.

During his speech at the fourth night of the central Ashura council commemoration in Sayyid al-Shuhada Complex in Beirut’s southern suburbs, Sheikh Daamoush stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran transformed the aggression into a war of attrition against the enemy through a seismic missile response, with Iranian missile capabilities hitting their targets with unprecedented precision—something the Zionists had never experienced within their entity.

He added that Iran neither lost its capabilities nor its nuclear program, nor did it allow the enemy to achieve its goal of destabilizing its system. Instead, Iran emerged from this aggressive war more cohesive and united, with its people rallying together—a fact witnessed by the entire world. He emphasized that the enemy has realized that overthrowing Iran’s Islamic system is an unattainable illusion.

Sheikh Daamoush asserted that Iran has overcome sanctions, pressures, and crises, advancing and thriving in various fields, including knowledge, technology, and defense capabilities. It continues its path with strength and resilience despite all malicious conspiracies, affirming that Iran will never surrender as Netanyahu and Trump desire, remaining strong under the leadership of Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei.

Regarding Lebanon, Sheikh Daamoush noted that the ongoing and escalating Israeli attacks aim to pressure the resistance’s environment and push it toward abandoning its commitments. However, the clear response is increased patience and unity around the resistance option.

He stressed that a resistance led by a steadfast leadership and driven by a martyrdom spirit cannot be crushed or subdued, especially when embraced by its popular base. It has and will remain steadfast against threats, emphasizing that the strategy of patience does not signify weakness. Rather, resistance has become an existential necessity in the face of unprecedented American and Zionist arrogance.

He continued, “Some voices urge us to accept Israel’s occupation of part of our land and move toward normalization—an impossible scenario as long as Lebanon has an honorable resistance defending national dignity.” He pointed out that those who complied with American and Israeli conditions only reaped crumbs.

Sheikh Daamoush warned that those pushing Lebanon toward normalization seek to drag it into a new strife serving the enemy’s interests, at a time when this enemy aims to paralyze Lebanon and destroy its institutions through this path.

On reconstruction efforts, Sheikh Daamoush stated that Hezbollah assumed responsibility from the first day after the ceasefire, covering nearly 80% of repair and compensation costs. He noted that delays sometimes stem from funding issues, but the mission continues.

He affirmed that reconstruction is primarily the Lebanese state’s responsibility per the ministerial statement, yet the government has not seriously addressed this file or established necessary plans and mechanisms.

He revealed that Iraq found no official Lebanese partner to cooperate with on reconstruction funding, questioning: Can’t the government secure funding from its reserves? Why don’t the concerned ministries initiate repairs, even at a minimal level?

Concluding, Sheikh Daamoush rejected policies of delay in reconstruction and any linkage of this file to other issues, holding the Lebanese government responsible for any social repercussions resulting from this negligence.
