Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on Saturday likened Ukraine's accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to lighting the fuse on a powder keg, warning that the move could lead to the outbreak of World War III.
"Ukraine in NATO? That means war with Russia, and World War III starting the next day," Orbán said in a post on the X platform.
"The EU's reckless rush to include Ukraine will move the front line to the heart of Europe. This is not diplomacy, it's madness - don't throw a match on a powder keg," Orbán added.
