Director of Medical Relief in the Gaza Strip Bassam Zaqout said on Friday that 17,000 children in the Gaza Strip suffer from malnutrition, and the situation is worsening.
In a press statement, Zaqout predicted that a large number of children would die from malnutrition unless serious intervention is made, according to the Palestinian Safa News Agency.
He added, "Pressure must be applied on the occupation to allow the entry of baby formula and medicine."
Zaqout pointed out that many surgeries are postponed due to a shortage of medical personnel, supplies, and medicines.
