Doha – SABA
The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and its military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, on Thursday mourned the assassination of Major General Mohammad Saeed Izadi (Hajj Ramadan), head of the Palestine file in Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), who was martyred in what they described as a treacherous assassination during the ongoing Zionist aggression against Iran.
In separate statements received by the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), Hamas and Al-Qassam affirmed that General Izadi was a pillar of support for the Palestinian resistance in all its arenas, working tirelessly day and night to champion the Palestinian cause. They noted that he played a vital role in strengthening the Palestinian people’s capabilities and resistance against the Zionist enemy, ultimately laying down his life on that path.
Both movements extended their deep condolences to the Islamic Republic of Iran—its leadership and people—as well as to the martyr’s family, comrades, and the Iranian people, who have never hesitated to support Palestine and its resistance.
They stressed that the blood of this great commander, along with that of many other noble martyrs who have fallen in this major battle, will continue to fuel the resistance until victory and liberation are achieved.
The Al-Qassam Brigades’ statement highlighted Izadi’s key role in supporting and developing the Palestinian resistance by all available means, fulfilling a sincere jihadist duty and embodying the responsibility of the nation’s leaders to back the Palestinian struggle.
The statement further noted that the Zionist enemy still clings to the illusion that it can extinguish the spirit of resistance among the Palestinian people and the wider Muslim Ummah by assassinating leaders. “It has not learned from history,” the statement read. “This noble caravan of martyred leaders—whose blood has mingled across nations—embodies the unity of the Ummah, plunging the Zionist entity into its autumn, soon to be followed, God willing, by the spring of this nation.”
