Ankara - Saba:
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stressed the need for a complete halt to Israeli aggression across the entire Middle East.
This came at a press conference held Tuesday, prior to his departure to the Netherlands to participate in the NATO leaders' summit.
Erdoğan welcomed the news Tuesday that Israel and Iran had reached a ceasefire agreement and called on both parties to adhere to it.
He pointed to the need for effective states to take concrete measures to end the madness of war between Iran and Israel, warning of its repercussions for the region and the world.
He emphasized that the reckless steps taken by Israel, starting with Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and Iran, are unacceptable.
He emphasized the need to reach a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip as soon as possible, to halt the Israeli aggression, and to ensure uninterrupted access to humanitarian aid for the Palestinians.
With full American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 187,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands displaced.
