Mayor of the Capital Dr. Hamoud Ubad on Monday reviewed the progress of a community initiative to plant fruit trees in front of citizens' homes in Tunis neighborhood in al-Thawra district.
Ubad praised the initiative implemented by the Knights of Development in the district in partnership with the Capital's Agriculture Sector, which provided the seedlings, while citizens are responsible for their ongoing care.
He emphasized that this initiative comes within the framework of efforts to expand tree planting through the combined efforts of local authorities, community members, Knights of Development, and neighborhood leaders.
The Mayor of the Capital, along with Director of al-Thawra District Aqil al-Saqqaf, Capital Agriculture Sector official Mohammed Hajar, and a number of social figures and Knights of Development, planted a number of fruit trees.
Ubad also inspected the progress of a campaign to remove unsightly structures and congestion-causing elements in al-Thawra district.
He reviewed the organization of stalls and street vendors on Tunis Street and heard from the district director an explanation of the campaign's progress and the efforts of field teams to remove unsightly structures and stabilize the street.
