The Health and Environment Office in Dhamar Governorate delivered medicines, IV solutions, and hygiene supplies today to the Central Correctional Facility, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare services in rehabilitation centers.
Dr. Tariq Al-Khiwani, Director of the Health Office, explained that this initiative is part of the office’s plan to support its affiliated healthcare institutions, including the prison’s medical center, which is responsible for providing medical and treatment services to inmates. He noted that the support included medication for chronic illnesses and emergency cases, along with essential medical supplies and hygiene materials aimed at improving health and preventive conditions inside the facility.
Al-Khiwani also announced that the office is planning to organize a medical outreach campaign within the correctional facility in the near future, in cooperation with supporting organizations, following the completion of a field assessment to determine health needs. He called on official and community bodies to actively contribute to prisoner care programs and help alleviate their suffering.
Colonel Hussein Al-Sufyani, Director of the Central Correctional Facility, praised the Health Office’s initiative to improve the health and hygiene conditions of inmates. He confirmed that the provision of medications, IV fluids, and cleaning supplies represents a practical response to addressing a portion of the facility’s basic needs.
The handover was attended by Dr. Anas, Director of the Epidemiological Surveillance Department, and Hassan Al-Bukhaiti, Director of the Mental Health Department at the Health Office.
