Deputy Minister of Education stresses importance of Integrating Digital Technology into Education

Sana’a – SABA:

Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Hatim Al-Daees, emphasized the importance of integrating digital technology into the education system to keep pace with technological advancements.




Speaking at the opening of a three-day training course for ministry leaders on “Digital Transformation and Its Importance in the Education Sector,” organized by the ministry’s Information Technology Center, the Deputy Minister highlighted how digital tools can enhance educational outcomes and shift teaching and learning methods from traditional to modern digital formats.




He pointed to the need to study the requirements for digital transformation in education, increase awareness of its importance, components, and infrastructure, and understand the main challenges facing its implementation. He also stressed the value of learning from successful international experiences, while commending the efforts of the IT Center in advancing digital integration.




For his part, Dr. Fouad Abdulrazzaq, Executive Director of the IT Center, underscored the need for digital transformation in the educational sector to align with global progress across all institutional domains—educational, service-oriented, and economic.




He called for leveraging the digital information revolution and communication technologies within educational programs at universities and academic institutions to enhance knowledge and technological awareness.




Dr. Abdulrazzaq described digital transformation as a comprehensive strategic process to redesign operations, services, and operational models to achieve desired goals. He reviewed core concepts of digital transformation in education, including the use of technology to improve outcomes and the integration of artificial intelligence and data analytics.




Engineer Mustafa Al-Khaled from the IT Center spoke about the key pillars of digital transformation in education, its main components, characteristics, distinctions from simple digitization, and highlighted notable international case studies.
