Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi in Moscow on Monday to discuss the U.S.-Israeli aggression against Iran.
During the meeting, President Putin stressed that the provocative aggression against Iran is unjustifiable and that Russia is making efforts to assist the Iranian people.
Putin stated, “Russia’s position on the escalating tension between Iran and Israel is clear and reflected in the Russian Foreign Ministry’s statement,” affirming that Russia is taking necessary steps to support the Iranian people.
He added, “Your visit provides an opportunity to explore ways to resolve the current situation in the Middle East.”
For his part, the Iranian Foreign Minister said that Tehran considers the actions of the United States and the Zionist entity against Iran to be illegitimate and that Iran has the right to defend itself.
He added, “Tensions in the Middle East are rising due to the American and Israeli attacks on Iran.”
He emphasized that the U.S.-Israeli assaults violate the UN Charter and international law, and that Iran is exercising its legitimate right to self-defense in the face of these aggressions.
