the Zionist enemy is now being punished for its aggression against the sovereignty and territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Iran's Supreme Leader said on Monday, stressing that the punishment will continue.
"The Zionist enemy has committed a grave mistake and a major crime and must be punished," Ayatollah Ali Khamenei wrote on his Twitter account, according to the Iranian Mehr News Agency today.
"The Zionist enemy is now being punished," stressing: "The punishment will continue," the leader added.
This tweet coincided with a new missile attack by Iran targeting the occupied Palestinian territories, with air raid sirens sounding in multiple areas.
According to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), the missiles were intercepted. However, the IDF's statement indicated that the defense system does not provide 100% protection, which requires strict adherence to security guidelines.
Khamenei's statements come amid a sharp escalation following US and Israeli attacks on nuclear facilities inside Iran. The attacks sparked massive demonstrations in the capital, Tehran, attended by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, who denounced the "blatant aggression" against the country's sovereignty.
