Algerian MP: Israeli attacks destroy what remains of international law
[22/ June/2025]
Algiers - Saba:
Algerian Parliament member Moussa Kharfi affirmed that the airstrikes against Iran, whether direct, through proxies, or via intelligence coordination, represent an extremely dangerous escalation in the region.

In a statement to Sputnik agency, he stated that the Zionist entity considers Iran’s nuclear program an existential threat and is acting with direct or implicit American support under the pretext of a "preemptive strike."

He emphasized that allowing the enemy to act without restraint opens the door to numerous risks, including the expansion of conflict in the region and the world.

Kharfi added that Israel’s move destroys what remains of international law, as it struck a sovereign state without UN authorization. This makes "force" the sole standard and undermines the idea of a world order based on law.

He further stressed that, through this policy, Washington is sending dangerous messages, most notably that international law is subject to interests rather than justice, that the U.S. is willing to undermine UN institutions if they contradict its strategy, and that the unipolar world order—though fractured—remains intact, with Washington refusing to allow an alternative system led by China and Russia.

Concluding his remarks, he warned: "If the enemy is left unchecked in executing its strategy, it could lead to the gradual collapse of the collective security system and turn the Middle East into a perpetual battleground."
