The Russian Defense Ministry announced that its forces on Thursday captured two new towns east of Kyiv, eliminating 850 Ukrainian soldiers, while its air defenses shot down 236 drones.
The ministry stated in a statement that units from the Northern Group of Forces advanced deep into Ukrainian defenses and took control of the town of Novonikolaivka in Sumy Oblast, while units from the Western Group of Forces took control of the town of Dolgenkoye in Kharkiv Oblast.
