St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2025 Kicks Off

The second day of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2025 began this Thursday morning. This year's main theme is "Shared Values - The Foundation of Growth in a Multipolar World."

The forum will feature several events on this day, covering a number of topics, most notably: Prospects for strengthening business partnerships among BRICS countries in a new form, in addition to promoting values in the era of the experience economy and artificial intelligence.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum witnessed the unveiling of a symbolic BRICS banknote bearing the number 200. The front side of the banknote features five images of birds representing the BRICS member states, while the back side features the flags of the member states, participating countries, and the group's partners.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is a global economic event hosted by Russia from June 18 to 21. It is an open discussion about the shared values that form the foundation of growth in a multipolar world.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin stated on Thursday that work on the Eurasian Economic Union's free trade agreement with the United Arab Emirates is in its final stages and is expected to be signed soon.

Pankin told Sputnik at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, in response to a question on the matter, "The work has already reached its final stages. With the UAE, there is a chance (of signing) soon."

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed that integration processes within the Eurasian Economic Union are developing dynamically and fruitfully, and a common market has been established.

A statement published on the Kremlin website on the occasion of Eurasian Economic Union Day read: "Integration processes within the Eurasian Economic Union are developing dynamically and fruitfully, and a common market has been established that ensures the free movement of goods, services, capital, and labor."

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which takes place from June 18 to 21, is discussing this year's main theme, "Common Values - the Foundation of Growth in a Multipolar World."

The forum's agenda includes more than 150 events covering key topics in the development of the global and Russian economies, and more than 600 speakers and moderators.
