The UN Security Council will hold a closed consultation session today, Monday, under the item "Protection of Civilians in Armed Conflict" to discuss food insecurity in Gaza.
Members are expected to hear a briefing from Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Joyce Msuya.
The Global Network Against Food Crises had previously announced that acute food insecurity in Gaza had reached the worst stage, "catastrophic/famine."
